What you may not have known about passionfruit

Passionfruit. Sweet and sour, purple or yellow, and when it blooms, it inspires unprecedented admiration. Maracuja, also known as passion fruit, is a popular fruit grown mainly in Indonesia, Australia, Africa, and South America, where it was discovered by missionaries in the 17th century. In the past, it was considered a symbol of Christ's passion due to its appearance, as its flower resembles a crown of thorns. According to legend, the whole plant represents Christ's crucifixion; its Czech name, passion fruit, also refers to this. The hard skin of the fruit hides a tasty, sweet, and sour yellow-orange flesh with seeds. 

To prepare homemade lemonades, dilute preferably with good quality water in a ratio of 1:10.

Ingredients: sugar, passion fruit concentrate (Passiflora edulis, 10%), acidity regulator: citric acid, natural flavor, preservative: potassium sorbate, vitamin C.

Store in a cool and dark place. The fruit extracts may contain sediment, cloudiness, or foam, which is not detrimental and enhances the natural character of the product. Shake before use. Once opened, refrigerate and consume within 30 days. Packed in a protective atmosphere.
